Google is a company that has become more and more dominant for the past 15 years. Many may wonder, what are Google’s future goals?
In a TED interview with CEO Larry Page, Page mentions that Google is still in its early stages of understanding world information and is not at all done working at it. Google is learning about individual users and making devices work better by doing so. Throughout the interview, Larry covers many areas that Google is working to improve on.
Larry first talks about a “worldwide mesh” of balloons used to provide internet access to two thirds of the world without it. Larrys vision came after working on getting internet at high points, balloons being significantly cheaper than satellites. The next topic Larry covers is his goal on security and privacy. Larry wants to give users the choice of what data is being collected about them. He mentions ideas like Google Chrome’s incognito mode and making similar options in other ways.
Lastly, Larry talks about his idea to make medical records available to research doctors anonymously. Larry believes this idea could have saved close to 100,000 lives this year because people would be able to learn more about their conditions. Lastly, the invention of self driving cars was talked about and how they could potentially save lives. Larry Page is a man with many goals and these are just a few of them. Google is continually improving making lives easier for everyone through their technology.
