What's so special about the NBA?

Clayton Browne has been writing professionally since 1994.”  In this article he compares NBA players to NFL players.  Specifically, he compares the salaries of players from both sports.  “The average NBA salary was $5.15 million in 2012, the median salary was around $2.5 million, and the lowest paid NBA players earned $473,604.”  “NFL players are at the back of the pack with an average salary of only $1.9 million in 2012. The median salary for an NFL player is $770,000, and the league minimum for non-rookies is $405,000 in 2013.”  He also explains why he thinks NBA players get paid more than NFL players.  He says that the NBA is becoming more and more popular each day and also the fact that they make a lot from endorsements as well.  NFL players make little to none from endorsements.  Sure they show up in commercials, but NBA players generate endorsements from commercials and clothing.

In another article, it states again the NBA players get paid more, but the author didn’t understand why.  The author states that NFL players train more, have more responsibilities, but mainly they are more prone to serious injuries.  One wrong hit and a star could turn into a cripple.  The reason I like this article better, is because even though the title of the article states that NBA players make more money, the author thinks that NFL players should make more and gives reasons why.
