Is the American dream still achievable?

Background:

My group's passion project is government policy and my section of the topic is taxes on Americans mainly the wealthy upper class. This topic interests me in many ways one being that its a common topic around my house and there are many different ideas that I hear at school and at home. Therefore this topic really interests me and would like to get other peoples ideas and get a better understanding of the two different sides of the topic.

Ways to research:

In order to get the best understanding of the two sides of the dispute I will read articles that are from liberal and conservative websites and news channels. Also I want to look at the history of the two different parties and how they have always done things in the past with their trial and error. Also would like to look more into the progressive tax system and see how that works.

Some Questions I want to answer:

1. What party has better ideas?

2. What will the future bring with these two tax systems?

3. Who will benefit the most from the two ways?

4. What will happen to the other party if something is done?
