Is It worth It?

What action/process makes a company/person successful.

Working in a restaurant demands having a lot of skills in the kitchen. I am looking into the whether or not going to culinary school helps with getting a job in a well known restaurant or hotel. Most well known chefs  have had years of culinary experience. But have these chefs gone to culinary school, or did they just work their way up, learning skills as they go. I want to learn what makes a chef more successful at their job.

Since I was young, I always had an interest in cooking, and while growing up, I had always been told that going to school is really important.
